Bike Tour of Chopta from Delhi NCR

If you are travelling from Delhi then the most common and convenient route will be: Delhi – Haridwar – Rishikesh – Devprayag – Srinagar – Rudraprayag- Augustmuni – Kund – Ukhimath – Chopta

On your way back you can go to like this way: Chopta – Mandal – Gopeshwar – Chamoli – Srinagar – Pauri – Lansdowne – Kotdwar – Bijnor – Meerut – Delhi NCR

You can either take your own bike or hire one easily either at Rishikesh or Dehradun. Be sure to check the bike conditions and fill enough petrol for the ride. It will take around 12 hrs to reach Chopta from Delhi for a seasoned biker.

You can explore further to the charming Sari Village which is located 30 km from Chopta. Sari Village is one of the most beautiful villages of Uttarakhand and you will instantly fall in love with the beauty of the place. You can do day hike to Deoria Tal and Trek to Tungnath  temple and Chandrashila when in the region.

Facilities available for Bikes near Chopta

As you know Chopta comes under Wildlife Sanctuary, so there are no ATMs, Repair Shops or Petrol Pumps.

Petrol pumps are available on the route to Chopta, the last one being at Kund which is 38 km before Chopta. It is recommended that you fill enough petrol for the ride at Rishikesh or Rudraprayag itself. You will also find Petrol pump at Augustmuni and Chandrapuri as well.

Repair services
You will find mechanic along the route for minor repair services. If, however, there are major problems in your bike then you will have to take your bike to Rudraprayag or Srinagar or Rishikesh.

Road Conditions of Biking

The road conditions from Delhi to Chopta is good and ideal for two-wheelers. The highway from Delhi to Rishikesh is now pretty smooth after the ongoing construction. From Rishikesh to Rudraprayag again the road is in good condition but there are a few bad patches due to Char Dham All Weather Road construction.

After that the road is average but easily motorable. The hilly terrains with mesmerizing views makes the ride no less than riding through the scenic locations of a movie.

TIP – After reaching Bhiri, before Kund, you can opt for a silent detour to Chopta via Makkumath Village.

Best time for Bike Tours to Chopta

The best time for bike tours to Chopta is during the months of March-May and September-December.

The monsoon season is best avoided due to frequent rains and it gets difficult for riders to continue journey. In winters some routes may be blocked snow on the roads, so make sure you take everything in account before heading for the ride.
