Railings will be installed from Chopta to Tungnath and further it will be extended till Chandrashila (Summit), in the forest area to protect wildlife in Chopta Region. Cameras will also be installed for surveillance. An action plan is being prepared by Kedarnath Wildlife Division for the protection and conservation of these wildlife.
Along with this a nursery of local climatic flowers and ornamental plants will be set up in Baniyakund and Dugalbitta.
The forest department is very happy to see the increasing number of wildlife in Bugyalas and forests during lockdown. For the past two months, herds of animals like Thar and Ghurad have been seen in the surrounding forest area of Chopta. Along with this, Guldar (leapord) is also being seen in large numbers.
Many other species of state birds, including Monal, are wandering in the market place.
